Well isn't that name a mouthful! This is one of the staple sample flavors they have in their store -- it's typically the Youthberry / Wild Orange Blossom Tea Blend and a chai tea blend (don't worry, we'll review that one at a later time as well). I won't lie, this one took me some getting used to. My mom and I used to go to Teavana every time we went to the mall. She would love the Youthberry blend while I preferred the chai. To me, for some reason, I equated the taste of the Youthberry blend tea to medicine. Man, do taste buds change, because now I quite enjoy this one!
You get a gorgeous red color from the hibiscus, rosehip,  and beetroot. Just look at that bright red collected at the bottom of the mug!
The tea tastes sweet, mainly due to the candied mango and pineapple, the orange juice pieces (funny ingredient, I know), as well as, of course, the natural and artificial flavoring. There's a nice tang from the orange slices, red currants, and acas fruit powder. There's a nice floral overtone that ties in the sweet and sour brought to you by the rose petals and orange petals. All of this deliciousness blended with a gentle white tea.
Overall, I would rate this a 9/10, given that I like sour, fruity teas. If sour isn't your thing, I would stay away. However, if you're down with the get down, this sour, floral, sweet tea is a good one. There's a reason it's always used as a sampler in front of the store!

Happy Wednesday! I am back from my travels and finally have my jet lag under control, I think. It's funny how it creeps up on you when you get back home. The jet lag when you're abroad is easy to deal with because of the excitement, but back home, all I wanted to do was sleep.
Because of this, I have been relying on a certain blend from Teavana that I've talked about before, but believe it deserves a second post. This is a blend that a Teavana staff member recommended to me one day while I was shopping and wanted a drink to boost my energy. She said that this blend reminds her of Thai tea, but also has a chocolate-y taste. I completely agree! It is delicious.
This tea is a blend of Caramel Almond Amaretti herbal tea for flavor, My Morning Mate, and Matevana for it's long-lasting caffeine effects. Mate tea is said to help you focus, help with physical endurance, and help with weight control. Of course, these fun facts should be taken with a grain of salt, but certain components of Mate are associated with these benefits (everything in moderation!). After brewing, add a splash of milk to help all the flavors become one cohesive delicious drink.

Another great thing about this tea is that I don't fear it over brewing. This is the perfect tea to pop into the mesh infuser in your thermos and head out for your day.

This post is coming to you Tuesday night instead of Monday because of midterms :( My apologies!

This tea is my favorite to drink when running errands, which usually starts at the mall. You know how it is. The first store I always walk into is Teavana. I walk straight to the cash register and order the same tea; the chai mix they have on display with light sugar. It is a mix of Mahara Chai Oolong, which gives just enough energy for an extended period of time, as opposed to black tea, which tends to give a spurt of energy that dies down. This is mixed with Samurai Mate, which is rich in caffeine. This combination not only tastes absolutely delicious, it gets the job done of making my errands feel relaxing while giving me enough energy to keep going.

The best way that I can describe the flavor is a muted chai. You taste the spice, but it is not as strong as in most chai teas. This might be due to the creaminess from the pineapple and papaya tropical notes. This chai is perfect for those of you that are new to chai, would like to try it, but are afraid of the spice. This was actually the first chai that I ever tried, and it truly made me fall in love. The only reason I have yet to purchase this tea blend is that not having it at home helps me justify buying it as a hot beverage every time I go into a Teavana.

Good Morning! This week, we wanted to run a little experiment to see which teas are the best to drink if you want to feel awake and alert. Finals are coming up and that means business. I (Vivian), personally don't like coffee for my caffeine fix because it gives me headaches and makes me 10 times crazier than I am on a normal basis, and no one wants to see that. Instead, I turn to tea, to keep my energy at a normal and socially acceptable level.

Every day this week (Monday - Friday) I will try a different tea and rate my energy levels at different times. This is the plan (let's hope I wake up early enough to stick to it): Drink tea by 9:30am. Rate my energy at 10am, noon, and 2pm (hopefully avoiding lunch food coma time). Easy, right? Here we go!
