Sweet Potato Fries with a Spicy Siracha Sauce
5:45 PMThis snack was created when we had the late night munchies and were craving sweet and spicy. We went off of the sweet potato fries we really like from a local Japanese restaurant, adding little things here and there to suit our taste. Feel free to make any additions or changes that you would like! You can swap out the sweet potato for regular potato, add more/less spice, whatever your tastebuds desire.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp olive oil
3 small sweet potatoes
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp siracha
1 tbsp mayo
1 tbsp sour cream
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp curry (optional)
1/2 tsp paprika
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
Recipe:
1. Peel and slice sweet potatoes into thin strips (approx. 1cm in width and 2.5 inches in length).
2. Blanch Sweet Potatoes for about 1.5 -2 minutes:
3. As potatoes boil, prepare dipping sauce.
- Mix together garlic, siracha, mayo, and sour cream in a small bowl
5. Add oil to pan and allow to heat up.
6. Throw in sweet potatoes and fry in oil. Cook until fork tender and crispy.
7. Place a paper towel on a plate to absorb excess oil (Dry off fries).
8. Sprinkle on paprika, pepper, salt, and cumin
- (add on curry powder if desired)
9. Enjoy! We poured the sauce on over the fries but you are welcome to just dip the fries in.
Happy Eating :)
